Welcome to the Campaigns page! Here, our volunteers can send targeted messages that advocate for critical policies and legislative reform. Through our step-by-step approach, you'll have the opportunity to deliver multiple messages to local, state, and national representatives over topics concerning underserved children that you care about! This initiative is not only a way for you to amplify your voice and speak up about relevant issues, but also an opportunity to contribute to our community in the simplest way. Your participation in our political email campaign will help us advocate for positive change and influence policy decisions across the United States regarding access to funding/mental health resources for children of lower socioeconomic status. We’re excited to see your engagement and support!
Research what current bills exist that support children of lower socioeconomic status and identify gaps or areas where you can make improvements towards supporting these children educationally. They need more government funding in terms of better quality of education/enrichment resources, and most children living in homeless shelters, domestic abuse homes, orphanages, or foster homes lack access to licensed mental health professionals. These issues need to be addressed to ensure that these children have access to the same opportunities of a more privileged child and that they have every chance to succeed in a future STEM field.
Think about how you will contact your target. Do you have contacts close to the target to support you in your outreach?
Personalize the template letter to appeal directly to your campaign target. What are their political interests and what will encourage them to make a commitment on supporting the educational needs of underprivileged children
Your message should have a clear call to action and outline how you will work with the target to achieve it.
If you don’t get a response, try calling them on the phone to follow and ask your supporters to write in too if you haven’t heard back. Draft a short succinct template message to share with your mailing list and encourage them to take additional action.
